Possible Bad ABS Control Module
I have a 2004 E320 with 130000 miles on it. 2 weeks ago my ABS ESP Malfunction warning came on after driving about 5 miles. After parking it overnight I drove the next day and the light had gone out. I have driven 20 miles or more without it coming on but now it will come on after 2 or 3 miles. Once parked and turning off engine and restarting later it will come on again and repeat this pattern. I took it to an independent that has worked on it for several years and when he connected the computer he said that the error said hydraulics and he said the ABS Control Module is going bad. Considering the cost, I want to make absolutely sure before buying one. Is their a sure fire way of making sure it's the ABS mod? Also does anyone know of any place I might buy a re-manufactured one and if it would be a good idea to go that route? What are the risks driving with this malfunction? --- Larry
