E320 A/C warm except on freeway
I would like to add that I just did this fix on my wife's 2005 E320 wagon-it all went perfectly. I paid a shop to evacuate the system, popped the old valve out, grabbed a little lube off it, installed the new valve. I recharged it myself without pulling a vacuum on it. It took almost two hours to get the system charged-after getting about 900+ g of R134A into it, the vents are all freezing cold in 90+ degree weather! My car's symptom was intermittent cooling, not necessarily engine speed-related, which seemed to get worse with higher temperatures. Bottom line was, it simply was not compressing when it should-looked for codes, scoped the valve-when I had a good waveform to it, but low and high side pressures were almost the same (around 100psi), I knew for sure I had a bad valve. Got the new valve from Polar Bear Inc.
