coolant question

Checked my coolant on 07 E350 and it was a little low, so went to the dealership to buy more. I thought my coolant in the car was green, so they told me to flush it and put in all orange. I looked at my coolant closer and it is blue. The coolant at the dealer is orange. Can I mix them or do I have to change it all to the orange? Or can I put Zerex G-05 with the blue?

Interesting. I've only seen blue coolant. It should be alright if you mix them properly.

And don't use the Xerex.

I called the dealer today and told him I have blue coolant and he said that's the color it is supposed to be! The lady yesterday told me it was supposed to be orange and I needed to flush it out and put all orange. How could a MB dealership not be on the same page?

That's the sad thing is this lady worked in the parts department! I would go down instead of calling but it's an hour drive.

Just found out a few weeks ago MB has a blue coolant and orange coolant available. The color you get seems to depend on your location which probably means supplier that is closer. They are in fact mixable if they are mb approved fluids. If you don't know if the fluid in your car has been changed or not I would do a full flush to be sure and use whatever the local dealer had or order it online. Remember MB coolant is 100 coolant so you need to mix it with distilled water.
