Bought salvaged W211 **Major Problem Need Help** well for me
Im a new member to this forum but been trolling for years for info.
I purchased a 2003 w211 E500 from the auction just recently, the problem is that the stereo does not work. What i noticed is that it has
- Audio 50 APS
- The Audio Gateway is there
- NO Cd or DVD drive in the trunk for the Command Disc, looks like someone removed it.
Now because of that being missing from the car would the car Stereo not work. Any help would be really helpful.

MY03 navigation (drive in trunk) was not available for Audio50 in USA - attachment covers system. Malfunctioning device on MOST loop is most common cause for system failure. Check communications platform (beneath forward trunk panel) connections and fuses: Interior (left side dash) head unit f28 & optional CD changer if equipped f26 + rear SAM (behind left trunk panel) AGW f6. If all is fine head unit, CDC, or CP may be malfunctioning. Definitive diagnose have someone pull fault codes with MB DAS (diagnostic system).

MBWorld Fanatic!
Get you some by-pass connectors and close your loop. In laymans terms fix your loop so your head unit will operate... 15$ part!

Ok so i managed to find three connectors that are just hanging free in the corner. The audio gateway is connected but the image from the PDF Konigstiger showed a black box attached on top a aluminum bracket. i dont know what that is and there is no bracket in my car and black box.
Also on another note the car that im taking the parts from is a 2007 e300 and im assuming it has a COMMAND NTG1, the picture taken is from the parts car.
In order for me to put that head unit in what would i have to take from the car as its going into a 2003. would i need to take that cars Audio Gateway because its from a newer model.
Its unfortunate that the car runs amazing with no problems and the audio system has been messed with.
