AC intermittent-help!

My wife's 2005 E320 is still giving me fits. The air conditioning will work fine at random intervals. Most of the time there is no cooling-both lines (high and low pressure) are same temp. I had a friend hook his STAR to it and the only fault he found was the heater valve-which I changed. He was reading about 750mA through the compressor's control valve-and no cooling was occurring. But since then, the AC will work at full efficiency SOMETIMES. I am thinking about replacing the control valve-but I want to make sure it isn't a bad connection. Can ANYONE share a wiring diagram for the compressor's connections to the driver's side SAM? Is it possible the valve is intermittent? How do these fail? I have measured my valve's resistance and I read about 10 ohms.
