E55 Aux Battery Issue?
So yesterday, when I was driving home, I noticed my radio turned off, A/C not working, and right when I got home, my brakes locked up and most of the dashboard lights came on. I figured it was the battery so I went to my local autozone and had it charged. When I came back, they said the battery was bad and I bought a new one.
I turned on the car this morning and everything was working fine until I got 2 malfunction warnings. I got the red battery light and the convenience warning. I took my car back to autozone and have them check the charge and they said they couldn't check the battery because there wasn't enough juice.
Has anyone dealt with this? I'm hoping it's just the aux battery or voltage regulator and not the alternator. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Out Of Control!!
The bad news is that you need to have someone check with factory software or equal the battery control module and the charging system---or keep guessing!!

With the vehicle running you'd check the battery's voltage with a tester. If below 13V it's a problem with the charging system, if not, it would be a battery. Which battery are you testing and trying? The AUX or the main?

i agree with taking this to the dealer and having them do the star diagnosis on it
it can be a lot of different things and you might get lucky or you may replace parts that are ok
the battery control module keeps the aux battery charged, so if you find the aux is bad, it may just not be getting charged because the bmc is bad
the bmc only charges the aux for about 20 min and then only if it needs it
there was an update available for my bmc but mine was bad and would not take it
and the bmc must be programmed using star
at least this is my understanding of how it works
so seems it is best to go to the dealer or star equipped indie
good luck
