Rear Bumper Bumped
My wife just got hit from behind at a red light.
No visible damage other than a line in the face of the bumper and a few parallel crack lines in the paint on the top surface.
Guessing the plastic folded in about an inch or so and then sprung back.
Any guesses as to what under the bumper skin needs replacing?
Looking at the EPC it appears that there is not an energy absorbing piece or pad between the bumper skin and body metal?
Does that mean that as long as the collision did not push in and touch the underlying metal, it is just the skin and any trim pieces?

Get the other person pay through their insurance. Get a copy of the police report.

We will file, but need to get our insurance company to file against their liability for the deductible.
If the total amount is not much over $1k that might be a chore.

Looked under the back.
No obvious damage to the rear crash protection cross member or the collapsible pieces it is supported by.
So it looks like the plastic cover has about 1 inch of free space which is where the bending occurred that cracked the paint.
SO, with my luck all that is needed is a R&R and repaint of the bumper cover for I am guessing about $800; leaving me to chase after the other guy for payment (and maybe his insurance company).
Fun Fun!

Wife's car, no need to update, juts have to get it fixed.
Wondering if I am going to have to threaten small claims court?
Allstate already told my wife if the other guy did not get a ticket they consider it "no-fault" and we need to pay the deductible.
