Getting AUX cable from glove compartment to head unit area

I have a 2004 E320 with the AUX/Headphone port in the glove compartment. The fit of the glove compartment door looks pretty tight.

Im considering getting an ipod to mount near my COMAND unit in a removeable capacity (actually a mount that slides into the single CD port.) I've got that figured out, but getting the AUX cable out of the glove compartment to that device is the trick.

Are there any grooves or places people can do a DIY mod to get that cable out of there in a aesthetically pleasing way?

I installed a bluetooth kit that plugged into my aux port (glovebox) and hid the wires behind the COMMAND unit. I used this video (
) to help me out. I was able to bring a wire into the cigarette lighter and another to come out near the ignition.

thanks for the reply. that looks like it works great, but that's hellacomplicated for me. im looking to just plug in an ipod that i can have on my dash, and wired into the glove box aux port. really just how to get the wire from the aux port out to the cockpit/dash in a somewhat hidden fashion.

That may look complicated, but all I had to do was remove the area around the shifter, then the cigarette lighter, then the COMMAND system. Then you can put the wire through the light socket in the glovebox into the center console. I'm not really a DIYer and I didn't find it particularly difficult.

Do you have to charge the bluetooth device? Correct? (Like 10 hours of use maybe?)

No, I have it plugged into the cigarette lighter. That's why I wanted to hide the wires.
