I got a overhauled transmission, and a new converter, but i did forget to measure how much oil i did take out of it,so how do i do it, i allso got a new converter,i have the service transmission measuring tool, and i am thinking that i shall fill it up to the cold mark, and then check the service tool often,do the car need to idle, engine on,when i measure the oli level?,its a w211 220cdi 2008

yes, add like 5 quarts and keep checking it until the fluid level is in between the lines on the measuring tool. Check with engine running.
