Mann Air Filter Question

Mann Air Filter Question
Sorry if this has been discussed (I'm sure it probably has) but couldn't find anything using search and google wasn't any help either. I want to change out the air filters on my 2004 E320 and I know I want to get OEM Mann filters. There are C3698, C3698-2, and a C3698-3/2, and C3698-3 models that can fit. Whats the difference and should I get one over the other?

The -2 means it's a set of 2. The /3, I have to research.
