Key issue after alarm trigger

Hello and greetings. I recently went over to France on the ferry and didn't disable the motion sensor on the alarm. When I returned to the vehicle the alarm had obviously gone off on the crossing. The issue I have is that the key will now not unlock the doors / boot using the wireless. It will sometimes open if I point the Key at the door handle. Its a 52 plate E220 classic W211. Many thanks in advance. Nick

I have subsequently found that Fuse 8 (Antenna unit) has blown and blew a second fuse when replaced. I believe this could be the alarm horn? Anyone know the location of this as I cant find it.

Thanks

Thanks Konigstiger,

I am still unable to locate, is this under the bonnet or inside the wheel arch? I have checked both sides, one side is the main fuse box and the other the AC filter.

Thanks

Should be behind lower left fender, access through front wheel liner as explained in link.

Finally got round to having a look for the sounder, it was in the wheel arch as you said but on the right. Must be a LHD /RHD thing. Anyway thanks for the assist, had to remove the unit as the wires were all melted together and so was the plug.

Thanks again ;-)
