Lojack
Yes, it does go off when it's flatbedded. I think if you posed as a tow truck driver, no one would care. I mean, I stood around for 15-20 min and this is in a high pedestrian area...the dudes just flat bedded the cars and no one gave a sh*t...so not that hard :p
even without lojack, there any many gps systems just like it, im sure there is something where you live, GL
The Lojack early warning system doesn't sound that effective either as their site says:
"How long does it take to receive LoJack Early Warning call notification?
Typical notification from the time a vehicle begins moving without the presence of the Early Warning Key Pass is about 15-30 minutes and no longer than 1 hour."
By the time police get to it, the car could be across the border or the problem we have here, on a ship to South America.
The Tel-aid sensors will go off sooner than that and you will be notified if you are subscribed to the service.
The only reality that mattters is that if someone wants your car they can take it.
some insurane comapnies will not accept teleaid as a lojack alternative. mercury auto screwed me after i paid for a tele-aid subsciption.
teleaid will call you if your car alarm goes off. towing or other. I've had them call me a few times.

we never renewed...as we have cell phones and such. Just that our dealer told us that it would contact MB if the airbags deployed or the emergency retractors went off regardless if we had the subscription or not for the life of the car :rolleye:
oh well.

Your cel phone service is disconnected and there is no other way for them to know anything.
More bull.
