Engine light on ( timing belt problem)

Engine light on ( timing chain problem)
Hi- my mechanic diagnosed my engine light problem suggesting a stretched timing chain. the car runs fine no noises or any engine issues. Could this be a sensor problem or is the timing chain the real issue?

Timing chain stretched-balance shaft gear worn-tensioner stuck-no way this is a sensor problem unless you have codes that aren't 1200 or 1208 current or stored in MOTOR ELECTRONICS...

OM642 stretch can be rather easily checked by anyone; open oil filler cap, you'll see tensioner shaft, if oil lubrication hole is visible, it's about time to change...
