No static but......

No static but......
Started the car tonight and no static but the radio was on but no volume. Turned the volume and tried to change station but it was stuck. Turned the radio power off and turned back on and there was sound but the guage cluster showed one radio station and the Nav Unit showed another radio station 
Used the steering wheel controls to change the station and it changes stations with the Nav Unit showing the correct station but the display on the instrument cluster is stuck on one station. Switched to show the Nav display and it shows "---" Got home and turned off and on the car and Audio and Nav display shows "---" and again no static. After 3 restarts the instrument custer display finally showed the correct radio station.
I know there is the new SW update but since my last visit my car has been working fine eventhough I only put about 150 miles since January 20. I guess it's time to call the dealer again just to see if the SW update is finally available.
Just wondering if anyone had this happened to them also....it's finally getting annoying.

I have not experienced that particular problem with my car, but have had numerous other nav, command, radio static problems since getting my 2004 E320. I usually keep the map displayed on the command unit and the nav info on the dash screen. So I really have not been in a position to witness the problem you described.
The other day I had another episode of the loud static problem happen, but this time I could not get it to stop. I turned the key off, removed it, got out of the car and it was still going! It continued for about 2 minutes before stopping on its on.
My car is going in Monday for the new software. The service manager mentioned that they received the service bulletin and update this week.
I will post an update after I get my car back with the particulars of the service performed.

I had the same problem with the Nav and the radio. A few days after it happened the Nav started to work properly. I took the car to the dealership and they were unable to find any error codes.

Lionhead - I've experienced the same, I've assumed it's all part of the same problem. I'm eagerly awaiting someone to say they got the real upgrade and it fixed everything. For now I alwoays turn off command before I shut off the car.

The last 2 days the car has had no problems. Going to call my dealer Monday to see if the new SW update is available and I'll report if its a fix. Thanks for the replies.
