vibration in reverse e320 CDI

I have the 06 e320 cdi with 415000 miles. I have recently replaced both engine mounts and the trans mount. I also changed the trans fluid and filter. prior to changing the fluid and after replacing the engine mounts, I noticed a vibration when placing the car in reverse. It is mild but noticeable. I don't remember it before replacing the MM yet one WAS broken and the other was old. Just wondering if anyone has thoughts.

Just add also, I just got it warmed up to 80 degrees and when it is warmed up the vibration is gone so only happens when cold.

Are you using "C" or "S" mode for the transmission? Perhaps try the other and see if it makes a difference. "C" mode makes for much taller gearing in reverse.

Well the c/s light that is suppose to be on the dash is not there anymore. Both that and the Park/drive light on on the left side of the mileage went out last week sometime but I think it is S mode. I understand under sport you get 1st gear and Higher rpm shift and in c you start out in 2nd and get softer shifts. Ill switch it and see if it makes a difference.

THE C350
I have heard that the engine mounts are keyed and if you don't put them in exactly right you can get vibrations. Also what brand of mounts did you use?

I just had to do engine mounts in my E320 due to a severe vibration (thought engine was falling out) in reverse and a small one in tight corners.

just as a follow up, I went ahead and replaced the trans mount though it looked like it had been recently replaced. That took care of the issue.

The trans mount had recently been replaced, which was why I started the thread indicating it had recently been replaced. Semantics as to whom actually did the deed. It was new but garbage sooooooo I replaced it with a quality mount and problem solved. Jeez
