How to start rest-mode, engine warm-up
Is there an way to start rest-mode on the HVAC with an relay or something?
Then i don't need to install an additional heatfan.

I would guess all W211 are prewired for it, so question is if changing the panel would do the trick, or maybe some additional relay/fuse is needed.
But what you mean by hot-frog? Is it engine heater? Those are low-wattage heaters design to keep engine above freezing. Meaning not much heat available and it takes a lot to warm up the cabin.
On my old Audi i just had to connect a cable from the 220v relay and to the HVAC-unit.. but that was before CANBUS etc..
Hot-frog is an engine heater, about 1250w.. i don't need a 22c temperature in the cabin, just a few degrees so the snow and ice is easier to get off

I assume you are in Europe to have 220V?
Anyway, if you have gasoline engine, they usually don't have heater plugs and even if you have one, I don't think factory heaters are that powerful.
Adding 1250W aftermarket heater might bring some safety concerns and I would be surprised if you notice any difference in cabin temperature when you Rec 10 -20C coolant from the engine.
I would rather think about making safe stand inside the cabin for one of those ceramic heaters.
They cost $29 and not much work involved. Put it on timer to start 20 minutes before you start the car and it should give you what you want.

Or then Thermo-Top is selling coolant hose installation heater with own circulation pump to get engine block heating more evenly. True you won't get cabin warming, but W211 diesels have very effective electric heater in air con duct.
The 220v installation don't worry me at all because we have DEFA and others suppliers thats selling 220v heaters with enough watt to heat the car...
I just want to get a 12v signal to activate the damn HVAC unit...
My W211 has a 280CDI, V6 190hk, i can install a Webasto (Thermo-top).. but its take a lot of time, and i can only find used parts for the 220cdi engine, the cooling hoses etc are different??
