Glove Box Door Damper Replacement
My glove box door just drops down and bounces.......the damper must be defective or the spring attachment broke. I didn't find any directions on my search for the specifics on how to access the damper for my 2003 E500. Can anyone provide me a posting or the directions. I'm sure I can figure it out myself but using some guidance from someone who's done it certainly expedites the process. Thanks!

Update: While my vehicle was at my local MB Dealer's service department for an oil change, gas tank fuel sender - filter unit replacement, replacement of one side view mirror glass and heater unit, and bushings replacement on the transmission lever, I also asked how much it would be to fix the glove box. When the service rep called me and said it would be $68 I told him that I'd fix it myself. But when I picked up the vehicle today, the service rep said the maintenance tech fixed it anyway "free" since he had to open it out to identify what the problem was for the estimate. It was the standard issue: The connecting lever from the damper unit had broken off of the glove box door. So it works great again now courtesy of a free repair at my MB Dealer. If it breaks again, I'll certainly now know how to repair it myself thanks to the two great inputs from the responses from Plutoe and konigstiger. Muchas Gracias!
