aftermarket exhaust loudness question

I'd like to put an exhaust on my E500 wagon, and am considering a Brabus Sport cat-back. I like the deep, rich exhaust note I've heard in videos, but regarding loudness, I've heard everything from: "Brabus is no louder than stock" to "Brabus is quite loud", or is "30% louder than an E55 exhaust". I'm wondering how much of this actually has to do with whether the center resonator is deleted or modified. (And how much does a cat-back system really affect sound pressure level?) So what should I expect in terms of loudness, assuming I keep my stock center resonator in place? I'm really bewildered by this, and any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Any general guidance would be great, even if you don't have specific experience with the Brabus.
