Here is the Renntech Spoiler on a Tectite Grey. Had it installed yesterday. Opened up the air intake by cutting the plastic piece on the air duct via EPower post. Car is going in to get the latest SW update tomorrow, K&N air filters are on order and 35% tint goes on Saturday. Rims are next.........

L.H,
The rear spoiler looks mean and the mods you have planned sound great.... Tell me, do you have to drill the deck lid to install that spoiler??? Is this something you can remove with no damage left behind??? I suppose your hoping to squeeze out a few more ponies with the K&N filter upgrade...What kind of gains if any are you going to see???
Don't foget to post up-dated pic's when your done.

As far as the K&Ns....just trying to gain alittle more airflow. I know more dirt will get into the engine but I've had K&N on the '01 E320 4matic for 40K+ miles and a high flow conical air filter on my Vette for 4 years with no problems. My objective on the E500 isn't to transfer it to a sports car but a luxury car with alittle sportiness to it (what the car was intended). Hopefully I will get a sports car in the near future. As far as the HP on the K&N....I would think the best would be 2-3HP (if that) but every little think helps. I would also think with the K&N and cutting the plastic piece on the air duct... it will flow better at higher speeds as the air is forced in. Therefore on a Dyno...I would think you won't see any HP gains.

You and the rest of the guys here with these mods to their cars are killing me.... My car is probably 7 weeks out (if I'm lucky) and the shopping list for the 500 grows daily....

i honestly really don't think putting a K&N filter is going to help the car any. without a chip to make up for the less restricted airflow, your OBD is going to compensate for it.. might work on jap. cars but not german cars.. someone correct me if i am wrong.

Spoiler
I have the Lorinser setup over the Renntech one, but I beieve both use double stick and dont require drilling the trunk. I know that both the roof and deck spoilers I had installed were stuck on using either the silicon it came with or strong 3M doublestick. If heated, you can uninstall it without hurting the paint or clearcoat.
As for the guy selling Monoblock VI 19s, how much you want for them and whats the condition. Please email me some pics at ogbenzoCa@aol.com. I might be interested.
