So I just picked up a 2007 E550 4MATIC and I was already thinking that the V8 deserves a better soundtrack and probably brakes. When I do my research here, it seems like everyone does the mods I want to do but on non-4MATIC cars. My question is, what are my options for brakes, is there any way I can fit E55 AMG brakes on this car? And what are my options for the exhaust? Would I be able to get E63/C63 mufflers on this car or am I better off removing the mufflers and making my own pipes? Thank you for any insight.

as for exhaust-search bar on the forum would be your best insight.
you will get alot of chimmers saying to do this or that but searching first could save you alot of hassle. It really depends on what kinda sound your goal is...

So I won't have to anything with wheel spacers or whatever to use E55 brakes? I guess I just want a sportier sound from it. I don't mind it being loud but I'd prefer to avoid having a bad drone. It doesn't appear that anyone really makes full exhausts for this car anymore.

I also have an E550 4Matic and I can't find any info on swapping the floating 2 piston front calipers for anything better like the E55 6 piston fixed calipers. Does anyone know where to find any info on doing a brake upgrade on a 4Matic 211?

Any updates on the brakes yet? Pretty sure rears will be no hassle but how about those fronts?
Btw I have c63 mufflers on my 350 and I love the sound!!! No drone so your 550 should give it a bit more throatier note!!

Should I change knuckle or have the bracket bolt holes machines bigger ?will this weaken bracket mounting points on knuckle?

I'm not here to argue,but I know for sure the mounting holes for the brackets need to be enlarged to fit caliper bolts. Unless yours has sport brake in witch mine does not. That is why I said get new knuckles (from 4matic sport) my only concern is this... (I believe is my tie rod) also dust shields need trimming at that point by tie rod..

I'd be willing to put up half on the 2 fronts as I found a full set for 800 and can probably get the fronts for 400. That's 200 we'd have to put in each and the install could go either way if they fit. On yours or mine.

yes-a co worker works on a w211 4matic that did the conversion. when i saw the vehicle i immediately asked him what needed to be done to convert-his response-r/r...remove and replace....
