COMAND NavUP Update
My existing DVD is labeled "2003-1". I was told that the first new DVD I will receive is the one issued in September 2003, which is "2004.1". The next one I get will be in September 2004 and will be "2004.2". In September 2005, or thereabout, I will receive my third DVD which will be "2005.x", I suppose.
I am very interested to see what difference there will be. On MBUSA's sales pitch on their website they claim that 15 - 20% of data is changed every year.
Anyway, that is what I know about it.
Today's story is this:
a. The disk I now have is labeled 2003-1 and was produced by Mercedes-Benz.
b. 2004 model W211s are now getting a DVD labeled 2004.1, which NavTech is producing. I assume it contains the same data as that on DVD 2003-1.
c. In September 2004 NavTech will issue a new DVD labeled 2004.2, which will go to all NavUP subscribers and, I assume will be the disk provided with new cars after that date.
d. NavUP subscribers will then receive a new disk in succeeding Septembers, depending upon the number of years for which they have subscribed.
