dont you normally change the discs (F/R) all at the same time? so if i plan on doing that, i need to buy just the fronts and then wait and pray that i win the rear? and if i dont win, i just waited in vain as i have to buy the rear as well?

I respectfully disagree. Brakes are self adjusting and typically the fronts and rears wear at different rates. You would normally have them checked periodically and when you are at min spec you replace parts on the axle that requires replacement.
