Does everyone get a blanket from M-B?
I thought at first that I was uniquely favored by M-B, but upon searching this board under "blanket" I found a C-type buyer reporting receipt of the same blanket in 9/03. That left me a bit disappointed; knowing M-B, I thought that maybe C-type buyers would get a logo potholder and S-type buyers would get a logo cashmere sweater, size XXL.
So, did anyone else get Mr. Black Blanket after buying their car? What other swag have you gotten from M-B or your dealer in a transparent attempt to buy your affection and loyalty? Shortly after purchase the dealer sent me a bottle of decent sparkling wine (aka "Champagne"), which seemed a curious gift in anything related to driving.
It showed up on my door step about 2 months after I leased my E320. About one week prior the the package's arrival, I had called MBUSA to try to get some help with all of the problems I was having with my car. So I do not know if the gift was for the purchase or in response to the complaint call. Anyway the second time I called to complain all I got was a letter!
Whatever the reason, the blanket is a nice touch. I just wish they would spend some money to replace the people staffing the phone lines at MBUSA. The person I ended up talking to can only be described as surly and indifferent, and the promised return phone calls never came.

No Blanket for me
I did get a new E500 after 18,000 miles at no cost to me...that may have been a better deal

jk, i would rather have a new car than a blanket too
I think some other E55 owners got it too along with a blanket.
Also, had my original E500 replaced with a brand new one after the original car was found to be defective.
Would have rather had the blanket over the gift basket.
I already had filled it with airline tickets and travel documents for an upcoming trip. I thought my GM or sales guy sent it.
believe me, a free car plus a blanket is much better

Now I have the free car and the blanket...life is good
Amazing.....after complaining that I never got a blanket....I found one on my front porch this morning. Must have missed it earlier.
