Angry E500 Side view mirrors moving around on their own.

Every time I get into the car the mirrors find some new hilarious spot to move to, of course never close to the memory setting I've chosen for them. It seems random. I'm curious as to what could be the culprit.

By random I mean the positioning, but it happens every single time I enter and start the vehicle. They just start moving around, find some weird position and stay there till I move them back to where they should be.

Here are the two corresponding codes:

9208 The signal line of component M21/1r2 (mirror adjustment up/down potentiometer) has short circuit or open circuit or the component is defective.

9209 The signal line of component M21/1r3 (mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer) has short circuit or open circuit or the component is defective.

Edit: hmm, these may have been due to a battery removal.
