Handheld Power Units?

Is there any Handheld Power Programmers that plugs into the OBD2 port and uploads the performance program. I was talking to my buddy who has a S4 and they now have that for there cars called Revo instead of the "Chip" (ie. APR Chips). When I had my other car there were several handheld units (TTS Power Loader, LS1 Edit, Predator, Hypertech) that can also upload via the OBD2 port. I rather go this route instead of buying a seperate ECU and a Powerchip.

I haven't heard of anyone making a user code installer but PowerChips and the like accomplish the same thing when you send the ECU to them. They do not solder in another chip, they just flash reprogram it.

Thanks for the info. I figure this was the case but thought I'd ask. If I go with Powerchip or Upsolute I'll probably still buy a seperate ECU so I can switch to a stock ECU if I have too. If anyone have additional info....please share.

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. I looked at their website and it looks like they only cater to BMWs but I'm going to email them just to check.

Interesting idea. How much would a spare ECU cost? I've heard they coded to each car. Is this a problem?
