Where is this smoke coming from?

You are trying to make reasonable dispute with a clown.
You have engine that never made to America, so I think you will get better responses on UK or other European forum.
The smoke looks to me like EGR, but that is just wild guess.
Any oil residue in the area?

EGR, it might be something in the right direction.
No residue in the area, engine was also properly cleaned earlier this week, nice and dry, no leaks.
