Question The N47/5 ESP control module location needed

Hi Everyone,

Could anyone pinpoint the exact location of the N47/5 ESP control module in the 2006 MB E350 4Matic (W211), please?

I am still "grounded" with the ABS/ESP problem (please see my previous asking for help posts).

A detailed (high quality) photo (or photos) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

On my '05 E320 the N47/5 module is located in the back left corner of the engine compartment, right next to the hood hinge. Driver's side. Under a plastic cover with a couple of slide locks on it.

With all the questions and issues you've been having, you might seriously consider spending $20 on an alldata.com subscription for your car... it'll be money well spent and you'll find detailed, high quality photos. Maybe not so much troubleshooting info (where this forum shines), but you'll have access to gobs of information on how things are supposed to work, flow charts, locations, TSB's, etc.

I've got alldata for each of the vehicles under my wrenchage: the benz, the other benz, the truck, the jeep, the corolla... even had Dad's car in there for a while. Each subscription has more than paid for itself in time and money saved.

I figured I'd tag along to this thread as it's asking the same exact question I have.... Where is the ESP module located on a 2006 (12/05 build) E350 4Matic Estate? I've just checked the fuse box area on the driver's side (LHD) and there's just open space to the inside of the fuse panel where two modules are shown in the pdf provided above. Perhaps it's located in a different location on the wagons? I vaguely recall reading in the past that 2005 to 2006 there were some transitional changes on the W211; Could that be a factor here?

Okay, so it looks like since my car has SBC brake system there is not a separate ESP unit, it's all in one ESP/ABS module which is attached to the ABS pump.

In another thread Mackhack indicated that as long as all the part#'s matched, a re-flash would not be needed of a replacement module. Any idea if this still holds true of a SBC module?
