Tentative new owner

Hey guys!

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who has added knowledge to this board over the years, it really helped me in my search.

I'm in the process of purchasing an 05 e55 amg with 60K miles, and had a PPI performed today.

My question is, with the list I'm about to add below, how much do you guys think I should lower my offer by, to adjust for the cost of the repairs?

D service
Fault code for coolant thermostat
Fault code for alarm battery
Aux battery needs replacing
Valve covers slowly leaking and need to be replaced
Trans needs to be serviced (has not been serviced)

Thanks for any input!

Hard to say without knowing the proposed price. The PPI is clean considering the age with nothing unusual if the SBC was replaced. A fair offer would be based on service history, interior and exterior, and the overall appearance.

Check for fuel filter replacement due at 60,000 miles.
Filter alone is $495 plus labor. If you add the pumps and O-rings, almost $950 in parts alone. Do NOT skimp on the filter change. Clogged filter will over-current the pumps and melt the fuel pump relay (which usually goes intermittent and drives you nuts trying to figure out why the car keeps shutting down at random). Several threads on this subject.

Don't they replace tank with the filter on the recall?
Even the list doesn't sound serious, parts on those cars are expensive.
The electric thermostat for my engine retails at $260
Is it 5-sp ? Those have been sealed for life, but recommend to flush ATF at 100k.
7-sp per MB require only service at 40k
Than when you see car running with bad thermostat, bad battery, not serviced transmission and oil leak, you wonder what else was neglected.
Did you get SBC count?
