Pierburg 070 maf

As I never found much info on either the 090 or the 070 maf I went with the 070, the car ticked over a lot quieter and ran well, apart from having a CEL on the dash, I checked fault codes and it was for MAF air temp sensor, looking into it I then found out the 070 doesn't have the thermistor built into it like the 090 doh!! I don't know what the ecu would use as a default value when the thermistor is faulty but my feelings are it would default to a hot air setting to protect the engine.

Looking at pictures of the 090 maf it looked as if the thermistor is just an after thought that's stuck on the casing and soldered into place, upon seeing this picture I then had a brain wave that the 070 PCB may have the provisions for a thermistor in place and it just needs some fettling to fit one, well today I prised open the casing of my brand new 070 maf, and as luck would have it there is two contact patches on the PCB that correlate to pin 1 (air temp signal) and pin 4 iirc (ground) so in theory I can remove the thermistor off of the old Bosch maf and put onto the 070 maf causing no cel light and having a better maf for the fraction of the cost of a Bosch unit, the only thing I need to do now is run some diagnostics on both mafs to see what the air flow readings are and if they have the same mapping as each other, I did notice better fuel consumption on the 070 maf so that was a good sign

Picture of 070 maf PCB
The two gold rectangles are linked to the pins on the connector, left side is pin 1 right side is pin 4 iirc m.
