AC Compressor Help

Well a few weeks ago I got stuck. Long story short got a used ac compressor so I can leave but again the used compressor doesn't work.

My question is can I get a shorter belt to bypass my ac compressor do I can go to work while they send me a new one. One mechanic I spoke to said they have to remove compressor anyway to run shorter belt do you might as well do it all at once and wait to get ac compressor and call it a day but I need this car asap. Is it true what he's saying or can I just buy a shorter belt if so what's the part number for the shorter belt.

So you already have opinion of keyboard mechanic.
When everything in this life is possible, it doesn't mean it can be easy.
Years ago, while on my vacations I had to replace belt on W124.
Took it to Midas, where 3 senior mechanics have been scratching their heads over my engine for full hour. They gave me car back with slipping belt- giving me story about bad tensioner. Since it was getting late and I still had to find place to sleep, I took the car and it wasn't till next morning till I had chance to pull the manual and confirm that they route the belt that instead of 180 degree loop on CS pulley, it had only about 50 degree.
In your case, confirm that your compressor has no clutch. With clutch you can just drive the car with compressor and no trouble.
On clutch-less compressor -driving without oil lubrication brings risk of compressor seizing and taking the belt.
Mechanics will hesitate to deal with it as there is not much money in the job, who being risky can leave some bad feelings when something goes wrong.
Could you post copy of your manual showing belt routing, we could get better idea if short belt is doable.

For sure when I go home I'll look at the manual. I can say for sure I don't think the pulley on the ac compressor is moving freely or smoothly. Reason why I say this is the motor after Revving it drops revs slowly. Since that same belt goes around the crank pulley seems like the belt is dragging if I make any sense.
