I have never had to refill oil according to the computer over a period of more than 10,000 miles. Can I trust this system? Is this normal? Has anyone ever had to top off the oil in their E500?

I put 12000 miles on my pre Nav E-500 and never added oil and have 7,00 miles on my Nav equipped replacement and haven't added any to it either. Most of this mileage is high speed highway driving.

26,000 miles here on my E500, and I've never had to add a drop. I think you can trust the electronic oil level monitoring and measuring system; my Porsche has pretty much the same thing and I've never had any problems with it either and never had to add oil.

Oh yeah. That's 26k total miles with all regular service events attended to; not 26k miles with no service. Never had to add any oil between oil changes.
