Water Building Up Around A/C Vents
I have a 2007 E550 and yesterday for the first time I noticed water starting to build up around my a/c vents. Enough so that it was beginning to run down below the vents by the time I noticed. I was on a 2 hour drive out of town and it happened again on my way back home. But it takes awhile of the a/c running before it begins to happen. The day before this happened I took my car through an automatic car wash. And I'm beginning to wonder if that has something to do with what's causing this. I've never taken it through an automatic car wash before and the problem started the day after. I'm suspecting a clogged a/c drain pipe. Any other thoughts would be helpful. And can anyone tell me exactly where I can find the drain pipe. Thanks

Did not had to do it (yet) but the drains are on the side of center console.
I think you will need to pull the carpet, but pull the covers to inspect.
Now you are not precise what is happening.
Moisture build around the vents sounds more like condensation.
If you have climatronic with "REST" button you can read your sensors for troubleshooting in just seconds. If not- SD might get handy.

If it were mine I'd fire up the heater on HIGH for an hour or so and see if that evaporates whatever water might've gotten in there. Taking apart the console would very much be a last step.
Oh, and take a look under the hood and make sure your cabin air filter housing is seated appropriately. Water shouldn't be getting in there.
Of course, if it is condensation causing the problem then the drains might need help like Kaj said.
