Brake service time
My sons 07 E350, 4M, is going to get new brakes soon.
We are going to do all 4 corners, Zimmermann Coat Z rotors and Akebono Euro (ceramic) pads.
A great combination for stopping, low dust and zero noise.
I am very satisfied with this combination. I've used it on my last 4 cars.

I am routinely making at least 300,000 miles on rotors before they fail the thickness.
On Akebonos in W210 I made 80,000 miles to wear less than 30%.
Had to recheck my records 3 times as I could not believe it.

Very surprising. The akebono's mentioned have produced zero lip on front rotors (E350) at 18k miles. Still a long way to go, but my experience has always been good.

18 k is not much to develop lip.
I had to grind off the lips on rotors with 180,000 miles, where I measured 40% wear.

I have 15k miles on my CLS, (rotors and pads replaced at the same time) with no noticeable lip.
My sons E350 has 45k miles on his (AE pads and factory rotors, replaced at the same time) with a definite lip, inside diameter and out.
This is one reason we are going with AE pads and Zimmermann rotors.

To wear rotors on 45k probably took 2 sets of tires?
