2006 Mercedes e350 4matic
Timing system
Hi everyone, recently I bought a 2006 Mercedes e350 4matic with about 142k miles for about 5k. Everything been going great until one night two weeks ago the car would not start. I thought it was the battery so I charge it up and after 4 hours it starts. But when I start it I hear sound noises coming from the timing belt. I think nothing of it, next morning I start it up and same loud noise. I drive it for about 10 miles and it completes just dies just shuts off. I then have it towed to a local auto shop. They look at it and say it the timing system went out and the interfere engine. They say it cost them for to buy the tools and parts to fix it so they can't do anything about it. I call up a local Mercedes dealer and they ballpark about $2500 for labor and parts. I don't know what to do.
