We received this E500 today it's a clients car. I just wanted to share these pics with mbworlders

The more I hear about how everywhere else in the world but the States has so many more options, the more I get pissed off. Goes without saying that we are #1 market. BMW does the same thing. I guess they wouldnt sell anymore cars either way, so why waste the money giving us more options, right?

I think it's more the incredible product liability risks in the US. No-one wants to risk another Audi scenario. I can just imagine the lawsuits from someone who extended their rear roller blind and then got hit from behind by a semi they hadn't seen.

We have that option, but unfortunately, I can totally see that scenario playing out. I wish we didnt have so many laws protecting people's retardation and own ignorance.

Ok are some pics of the car, it's not cleand yet.
The color code is 185 "melantischwarz" black/green (you'll see that only in the sun)

In this modern computer age, I think Mercedes-Benz are way behind in there selling capabilities. When I enquiredabout the various Designo options I was given a small brochure and told. "Just ask, and we will do it"
Unfortunately if you do not know what you are asking for, the conversation soon ends. Why not have a dedicated piece of software that allows you to actually see the whole interior in 3D in any colour combination that is available? Some of the exterior colours looked very nice, but they were on an eight inch (20cm) by three inch (8cm) piece of metal. The salesperson then said that the colours looked different on the actual vehicle????? Again, why not have 3D photographs of the exterior of the 211??? (both W and S versions)
The excellent photographs on this thread show just the tip of the iceberg and certainly wet the appetite.

The US will have a completely different name for this colour, but option 185 is Melanite Black.
Only available for the Elegance and Avantgarde (This also applies to Teallite Blue, again the US has a different name for this colour)
