Power Steering Help
As I was pulling out of a parking spot today and turning my steering wheel I accidently barely knocked the edge while steering, nothing too hard at all .
A couple minutes later I hear a slight whine, obviusly the power steering.
My question is how can I know if its the pump or a leak. The whine only happens at like 5-20mph speed while not even turning just sorta straight. But it doesn't happen at idle and the steering is the same no struggling at all. Just a slight wine and vibration. Again only when traveling low speeds and going straight.
I'm just trying to be optimistic and get some sleep knowing my pump didnt fail. Since its still responsive and just a little whine, shouldn't be a pump failure right?

Too many owners consider starting forum topic much easier than pulling hood release.
Check PS fluid level, look for leaks at the bottom of engine bay.
Belly pans can hide small leaks, but eventually you might want to pull them out.
