17" wheels with Sport Package?

Now that it's October I'm starting to think about winter tires for my E350. I was wondering if I could drop down to a 17" wheel and still clear the sport package brakes? My summer tires are nearly new Michelin Pilot Sport, 245/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on the rear, but I prefer running a taller sidewall and narrower width in the winter. I'm also finding that I have many more tires to choose from in the smaller size, and also my snow tire of choice (General Altimax Arctic) isn't available in 18".

I have a set of Generals with maybe 5000km on them that I had on my last car, but they're 16". A 16" wheel definitely wouldn't clear the 330mm discs...?

Yes you can. I have the sport package, and I ran 17" wheels last winter. Want them? I decided to change my 'pothole protection' plan from 17" wheels to flow forged wheels.
