W211 E500
When did mercedes-benz stop making the E500? As said before my 05 had gotten totaled in a crash lastweek. I loved the performance and the ride. I'm looking to replace the car but want the same ride but something a little more in date. Any suggestions?

Well I believe in the US, 2006 was the last year for E500. They went to the E550 in 2007. It was also still around on the W212 until they went to the E400. I think early 2007 models had problems with the engine, it's lumped in with the balance shaft thread on the E350 but it's not the same problem. I think 2012+ had airmatic as an option instead of standard. Just really boils down to what's in your budget.

Well I'm not looking for BRAND new so to say but definitely a good warranty with it lol. Something around 10-20 grand all wheel drive of corse living in the north east lol. I have a year of looking so I'm just trying to see what my options are. So I stuck to the treads to see what people's thoughts would be.

For 10-20 grand you're looking at a 3rd party warranty or if you're lucky you might find one that has one or two years of CPO warranty left. Most 2012-2013's are at least 20+, probably more like 25-30k. You might be able to find a 2008 in that range. I did see a 2007 E550 in the 14k range, these wouldn't have any warranty though.

Well I guess I'm biased, I prefer the facelifted model which would be the E550, has a different steering wheel and shifter, but then again I'm driving a 2008 car which was facelifted. I like the oval buttons on it. I've noticed that E550's were more likely to be loaded with bixenons and keyless go, pano roofs, parktronic etc, didn't see those too often on the E500's.

Yeah I know what you mean. My 05 actually had the hid headlights. I changed the front bumper marker lenses to clear and also put all led inside the car. I only had the car for 4 weeks. Didn't even have enough time with it to really enjoy it.
