Hey guys, I have a 2009 e550 4matic that I was going to replace the aux battery on just for good measure. Well pulled the cabin filter and there is no battery there... Does anyone else know where it may be located?
You don't have one. The aux battery is to provide backup power to the SBC braking system, and those are only on earlier models than yours (2006 and earlier).
Does the auxiliary battery supply any power to the airmatic compressor for the air ride suspension
The relay is good the fuses are good , I'm just not getting any power to the compressor.

Thanks for that. I too wanted to validate my Aux Batt was OK, and opened the cabin filter area to find nothing. I am having a new issue since last night where my Radio starts with the MB logo and starts playing music, or CD or displays Nav, or hooks to Phone, but then about a minute later, goes to a blank screen followed by all lights out, except the ON button, and then recovers. If it were a computer, i'd say something crashed the OS and it decided to reboot. The system recovers to previous activity and then about a minute later resets. One of the suggested checks in another post was to chek and replace the Aux battery if it is too old. My car is now ~9 years old.
Anyway, thanks for the info about the missing aux batt.
