2006 E-350 Sedan (W211) Instrument Cluster
Hi, I have an '06 E350. Some of the letters on my instrument cluster are missing when I first start my car, but fill in after 5-10 mins. Also, from time to time some of the lighting in the cluster will go out and come back on. Finally, the clock will reset then set again.
I have talked to MB. They want $180 per hr to perform a check to see if the problem is the instrument cluster or the program. They don't believe I need a new cluster. Next, Since I've removed my existing cluster and validated the part # I've found only one company with a used cluster that can also clone my existing unit to ensure the car accepts it.. $600.
Anybody got a better idea...?
Happy New Year

You have been given a couple of alternatives than don't meet your requirements of getting something for nothing-------Trade the MB, you may not be able to afford the ongoing repair expenses---look to a Korean import!

IGNORE HIM, he never has anything good or constructive to say, .....
I had a cluster once rebuilt in Southern CA, Los Angeles area if I remember correctly. I paid 380 bucks plus shipping, as I removed it and sent it there. So I think 600 does not sound all that bad.
