Headlight Ballasts two, what are they? missing one

Headlight Ballasts two, what are they? missing one
Bought used car, passenger side is missing one ballast, sometimes it shows dipped beam malfunction, and the previous owner installed an aftermarket ballast so at least it lights up, but want to revert it back to stock and also know what this 2 ballast meas!!


On this post #4 it says that it is for the adaptive control, but when I turn I dont see my lights turning as well. I searched and that's the only information I found.
