E350 Brake Time!

A little searching gives me several opinions dating back a bit.

With some years passed since 2008, I'd like to revisit the options and see if we have a consensus on what works best.

I have a 2008 E350 4MATIC that needs pads and rotors all around.

I'd like to say that performance is the highest priority, but damn, I hate the dust like all of you do, especially on my 10-spoke rims. What a ***** to clean...

Anyway, Akebono pads have fans, but their performance is down vs. OEM
Stock rotors seem to be acceptable, but the racer-boy in me kind of likes the drilled/slotted look here on Amazon

Also, is there anything to be aware of before I tear things apart?
I've been a mechanic for 30+ years, but this will be the first W211 brake job I've done. I assume it will all be straightforward, but if secret buttons, hidden bolts, or magic beans are required, I'd like to know!

So, what's the current consensus on rotor/pad combos today?

thanks,
Ducati

I put Akebono on mine recently. I don't know what the previous owner put on, but I had lots of brake dust and I thought the Akebono were better than what was on there before. I was tired of the dust so the pads were actually only about 1/2 to 2/3 worn so the rotors were fine. I just had the mechanic put them on without replacing the rotors and bleed the brakes. Now it's minimal dust, I use to wipe down the wheels after a car wash, but now it comes out clean.

I just bought the ATE ceramics to go with their cross-drilled sport package rotors.
