Reverse Camera for W211
I know this has been discussed before, but I haven't seen anything recently, but the major feature I still feel I'm missing in my 2008 E350 Sport is a backup camera or backup sensors.
I'd prefer a camera, but am trying to avoid replacing the head unit. Has anyone installed a reverse / backup camera that's integrated into the rear view mirror? My only concern there is the OEM mirror has the map lights build-in and is auto-dimming. They make clip-on versions but they look cheap.
If not, has anyone installed backup sensors? I'm considering this one, which seems incredibly easy to install:
Thanks in advance!

I thought all e class came standard with the rear sensors.. Mine came with both front and rear..

This modules "tap" the oem headunit screen and change it to the rear view cam while in reverse. There are cheaper on the net.
The amazon one looks like a cheap display mounted in the dash..

P2 refers to the package options ie: p1 and p2. P2 has things like active curve headlights, keyless go...etc.
I added a backup camera to our e350 but I have an 09' with the NTG2.5 comand unit. Not sure how easy/expensive that would be in your case.
I know a retro fit for parktronic sensors can get pricey quick as from what I recall the wiring/harness is not there if you don't have the option spec'd already...

Has anyone actually installed this on a w211? https://www.emeraldintegrations.com/...-system-2.html
Pics/Video would be awesome to see before I spend close to $500.

Mid-City Engineering also makes an integration kit for 2009 and later cars.
As far as parking sensors, the factory Parktronic system is more complicated that it would seem, and would be a very involved retrofit. There are aftermarket kits available that are much easier to install and function much the same way.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the North American COMAND unit has the video inputs pre-2009. This kit may only work with the European units that have the video input for the TV tuner and DVD playback.
