License Plate Mount
Recently purchased a 2008 E320 Bluetech. It does not have a front license plate mount that is necessary in my state. Any ideas would be helpful,

I would try e-bay, i found quite a few listings when I last looked. If you don't like the idea of drilling holes in the front bumper cover to use the OEM plate mount, WWW.Cravenspeed.com offers a mount that uses the tow hook to attach the plate. Congrats on your new ride!

Previous owner used a no hole drill front plate that uses the tow hook.
Looks way cleaner than the OEM MB front middle mount. Plus no holes drilled into the front bumper.

My state also requires a stupid front plate. They look horrible. I can't stand it. Most of the time I don't even run a front plate unless going into DC, they will ticket your car if you don't have a front plate.

Hence we call it THE UNITED STATES, where everything is united and the same in each state, right? N O T !!!!!!
Well, I must be getting old, as a license plate mounted to the side of the car does in no way look better than mounted in the center of the car.
But hey, too each their own.

(4) nylon bushings about 1/4 id x 1/2 od x 1/2 long, ground with appropriate angles to fit the bumper bevel, will shim the license plate out from the bumper enough so it can be flat with no folds. No trim around the edge looks pretty good IMHO.

I hear ya. I like it because it keeps the front end pointed via the model refresh. If I had the rounded front end a center mount plate would be fine since it blends. To me a center mounted license plate would completely loose the pointed more aggressive look on the newer w211s. Plus it reminds me of Evo's/STi's when they have one mounted on the side, sort of a jdm look to it. I would probably run the same type of mount on my STi if I had to run a front plate on it, but because a center mount kills the look of the car I choose not to run it on that one..haha
