Garage Buttons Failing

Hi,

I have a 2004 E500. Several years ago, the left garage button stopped working: pressing doesn't activate the amber light and the garage door doesn't move. Pressing the 2 outside buttons to reset doesn't have any effect.

OK, annoying, but the other 2 buttons worked, so I programmed the middle button and everything was fine.

Now the middle button is dead, just like the left one: no amber light, no action. The right button still seems to work (the amber light flashes, though I haven't programmed it yet).

So, I can program the right button and just wait for it to eventually fail and deal with this then or deal with it now.

Any ideas what could be happening or how to troubleshoot/fix?

Thanks,

I've got the same problem on my 2005 E320 that I bought a couple of weeks ago. The left button has no effect. The middle button and right button both flash but I believe they were already mapped by a previous owner. Is there any other way to reset the codes without having access to the left button?

You do not need the left button, unless you have three separate garage doors you want to program. Please see the attached.
