Tail Light 2008 E320 BlueTec

I recently bought on line a used driver side Tail Light to replace the one I damaged backing up. There was also some damage to the trunk lid. Ouch.

I gave the salvage shop the precise description of my car and they sent me what looked like an exact replacement. However, I now see that the brake light does not have the conventional incandescent 12V bulb which I have but several LED's instead.

Can anyone tell me if this tail light is compatible with the "new" one with the LED's? Your input is greatly appreciated.

Not understanding your question: Did your car come equipped with the incandescent 12V bulbs and the replacement taillight has leds, or vice versa?

I have a 2008 E350 (not BlueTec) and the stop lights in the taillights are led modules.

Working on trailer wires on my 2008 BT I noticed that the tail lights operate at 6V, so you might have more to deal with.
Still how long it will take to plug it in and check?

Thanks guys. As long as the current light is in place I cannot check it. As the removal is rather involved I want the body shop to do this as they will have to remove it anyway.

I did remove tail light on W211 sedan and W211 wagon and on wagon it was like 3 minutes job, much easier on sedan.
Just learn how trunk liners come off.

EuroDriverSD, my car currently has the incandescent 12V bulb. The replacement they sent has the LEDs.

Thank you konigster. Good back-up info if the LED light will proof to be incompatible w/ my current 12V incandescent brake light. I will know next week when the repairs have been done. Hopefully.
