Help with ac
Hey,
First off let me just say thanks for any help you can shed on my problem. Okay now I force my car to a friends house about 40 min away and the ac was blowing cold as usual. I left the car there for a 24hr period and when I got back, very late at night, I had to turn on the defrost for the windshield and I went from the cold temp setting to the hot. Once the windshield was clear I went back to the cold setting and I get no cold air. Now first thought was that I am out of coolant (or refrigerant) but my ac seats still blow out noticeably cold air. I'm by no means rich so I need to diagnose and fix this problem myself because I cannot afford to take it anywhere.

With at least 9 sensors directing AC work - reading crystal ball is having its limits.
Do the sensor readout per http://www.mercedesmedic.com/ac-air-...le-codes-list/
If you have climatronic with REST button and LCD display, the procedure is similar to older models on the site.
If no REST, you need to use computer.

You need scanner to read AC sensors and errors.
I got so spoiled with troubleshooting AC with tip of the finger at 70 mph, that I installed climatronic with REST button on our 2008 Bluetec.
With some luck you will find one for $40 and it is plug & play

Ok I've purchased icarsoft i980 and running through the test it has, I'm showing no fault codes and it even goes as far to tell me if motors in the right positions for different zones and the aren't showing malfunctions either
