OM642 DE30 LA red. versus OM642 LS DE30 LA
I drive a w211 280cdi (140kW), when my father owns w212 350cdi (195kW).
Since my car is not new, I am planning to leave it for chip tuning, maybe cat. delete (I am not sure about that, because I love that there is no smokes behind me, so I can hold that extra HP until cat. will be totally jammed. Also, leave EGR valve working, cause I think this would help for cat., am I right?).
But before that, I am thinking about some `homework`, to find parts which gives better performance. I found good web- EPC, but it's paid 75$. Not so much for year, but I have just one question... Maybe someone can help me???
OM642 on w212 have cat. and EGR valve working, but still have enough power for diesel- 190kW, so that also keeps my mind to not touch that and leave it as is now.
And how much power stock 7-g automatic gearbox can hold?
Any helpful answer will get 58 karma points, I'm not sure about price on black market now, maybe 100 can be exchanged to one `like`.

P.S.- on w212 there is air flow canal for oil cooler, is it useful?

If so, would it not be easier to sell it and just buy used E-Class with the most powerful gasoline engine you can find?

Chipping MB in USA is not popular as the option above is easy available, so I think going with the question on European forum would bring better response.
I don't think 7G is going to be a problem here, but knowing the country is essential to give proper and legal answer.

With the EGR off your fuel will burn hotter and more completely, thereby producing less soot/particulate. This will reduce the amount a contaminants in your oil and reduce the number of regens your DPF has to do, as well as slightly improve your fuel economy.
