Is this mpg right?

I think my speed sensor might be off or odometer reading. I never drove the car under 65mpg and never over 80 either. can the speed sensor be off or my odometer? Im also light on the accelerator.

did you calculate the MPG manually? Was it right?

Never drove under 65mph? Not even when starting and stopping?
The math on the 85 miles driven and 1:27 trip time equals 58.6 miles per HOUR...
In that time, if you were getting 27.3 miles per GALLON then you burned about 3.1 gallons of fuel.

Looks spot on to my calculator, but I've never ever driven my car at 65 miles per gallon. Best I've ever seen was about 42 mpg.

Just to be sure everyone is on the same page:
mpg = miles per gallon - the amount of miles a car can go on one gallon of fuel
mph = what the speedometer tells you - how fast you're going

Your original post is either a misunderstanding or a misspelling.

27 miles per gallon is pretty good mileage for an E500.

Doesn't seem impossible. My E63 has gotten 22mpg before on the freeway.

We regularly see 27 mpg in the wife's S430 when traveling. It's a similar, but slightly smaller displacement engine in larger/heavier car with same transmission. E500 has good aerodynamics, so seems possible.

Also, I already got 28mpg during a 120 mile trip in my (new to me) 2004 e320 wagon while driving similar speeds to OP. Don

Also should add 57 years of marriage has taught me to always drive like a grampa when in wife's car. Recently sold my W124/E420, so now have 2 cars with merely "adequate" power and they should see me out. Don
