Keyless go problem

I replaced the drivers door handle on my 2008 E550 4Matic about 1 year ago because it no longer worked. Now I am having the same problem with both front doors after an oil change at the dealer. Funny how that worked out like that. As I was removing the drivers door handle, I noticed that the key portion was loose. It seems that the captured screw or the screw hole is stripped. I can't imagine how that happened. It wasn't over tightened and it came out easy. I'm not sure how to proceed? Do I have to replace the lock to get the threaded part? What is the part # for this? Any idea how I could repair this?

I believe if you buy MB parts, you have a 2 year warranty, no mileage so if the handle went bad again, you can get another one free. No idea about the part number but there's probably diagrams that a parts counter guy would have and they could probably look it up for you. Or try calling up one of those places that sell MB parts online and see what they say once you give them the vin number. You could also look it up in MB's Epc-net, but that costs $75 a year now. Ebay does sell a knock off WIS and EPCnet DVD for around $10 though. WIS gives you the repair info.

The part was purchased through my mechanic so I don't have the receipt to prove purchase so I have to buy another.

Attachment covers door lock cylinder removal, if I understand you correctly you are looking for trim piece surrounding tumbler - incorporates two parts – cap and guide. I believe the part you are looking for is 2037601477 + correct color code (210 in diagram) PM or post VIN for part #. This part can be viewed here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/01-07-Merced...-/111160906156

All you got was a oil change. Funny how that stuff works. Happens all the time, but it's always the dealerships fault. Customer is always right! lmao

Anywho to me it sounds like your batteries may be getting weak and or your handle is bad again.
